This case casts attention on how a fresh managerial accounting tool, “Win-win Value Added Statement”, innovated by Haier Group has been adopted in an intrapreneurship process of a SBU within Haier group. In that process, the intrapreneurship team of the case SBU have built a strong interlinkage between service of Haier washing machine and other products and services’ consumption scenes around varied demands of customers for clothing and other daily uses till forming a new business ecosystem platform. Across different stages of business ecosystem platform development, the win-win Value Added Statement, has been used in predicting potential increase of users sizes, value creation of multi-tiers partnership for both SBU and external partners, and so on. The Win-win Value Added Statement in development process of new business ecosystem platform serves as a useful managerial accounting tool toward both supporting SBU decision making and partnership establishment.
