Sustainable development is not only a compliance requirement for enterprises but also an important lever for innovation and high-quality development. However, different industries and enterprises have varying understandings of it. It can only be effective when implemented at the technical practice level. Digital technology provides a toolbox and creates new opportunities for enterprises to proactively practice sustainability. However, blindly implementing digital strategies may trigger systemic imbalance risks and even hinder the progress of sustainable development. Schneider Electric (China) Co., Ltd., as a pioneer in digital empowerment for sustainability, has carried out comprehensive organizational changes in areas such as institutional management, organizational structure, talent capability, and cultural mission. This has solidified the digital foundation for the company's sustainability and laid the groundwork for adeptly addressing environmental changes, product services, and business model innovations in the future. This case study, centered on Schneider Electric's organizational transformation journey in digitally enabling sustainability, aims to guide students in deeply understanding concepts such as sustainable development and digital transformation. It also inspires students to think about how enterprises can adapt their strategies and organizational changes in line with their internal and external environments while helping students explore the mechanisms of digital empowerment for sustainability.
