This case is to study the contingent leadership of Gerui Environment Protection Equipment Co. Ltd. The case suggests that there is a close contingent relationship between the leadership and the uncertain environment facing a company. The case analyzes three typical incidents, namely the reaction of management team to external environment, the construction of trust between different groups and the balance of interest, the value and management style of entrepreneurs. The case particularly describes how a company nurtures organizational leadership and acquires organizational competitiveness during its development. The objective of this case is to lead students to analyze and discuss the leadership transformation at organization level, to understand the contents and mechanism of contingent leadership, and to understand the relationship between leadership and organization development.
