In 2013, Ping An Securities suffered a severe setback in its core investment banking business after the Wanfu Biotechnologies fraudulent IPO, causing a sharp decline in performance . Responding to internal and external pressures, the firm initiated a strategic transformation, leveraging digital capabilities to shift toward retail brokerage and integrated financial services. The transformation evolved through three stages. From 2014 to 2020, during the “scale-driven” phase, the company capitalized on the rise of internet brokerage by expanding online channels and developing its Linghang platform, achieving rapid customer growth and building a technology foundation. From 2021 to 2022, it moved to a “scale-and-quality-driven” phase, emphasizing operational efficiency and customer value through coordinated development of research, customer management, products, and platforms, while strengthening internal ecosystem synergies. Since 2023, Ping An Securities has entered a “service system and quality-driven” phase, shifting focus from customer acquisition to retention and value creation. Through customer analytics, resource integration, process optimization, organizational alignment, and data-driven management, the firm has gradually established a closed-loop service system. It also explored integrating Party-building practices with business operations to support its goal of high-quality development.
