91 Financial Information Services (Beijing) Co., Ltd.(hereafter referred as 91jinrong), which was found in September 1, 2011, is a representative and leader of emerging Internet Financial Enterprises. It achieved more than 100 times growth of net value since its establishment, obtained many prizes such as “China's most competitive Internet Financial Enterprise Award in 2015”, and was widely recognized by each side of the society. However, the development of 91 finance was not smooth sailing, it encountered a huge crisis in business development in the early stage of entrepreneurship, and in the later stage, when it experienced the prosperity and recession of the Internet finance industry, its business model was also adjusted again and again. This case describes the evolution of 91 finance's business model from the initial stage to the eve of round D financing, and restores its three important decision-making processes, in order to provide effective reference for the business model selection of other Internet financial enterprises or venture enterprises.
