In the poor environment of Chinese steel industry, Shougang Holding Co., Ltd. was established and has achieved a sustainable and rapid development. This is benefited from Shougang Holdings\' diversified business model innovation. This case mainly studies Shougang Holdings\' diversified business model. The differences between diversification strategies of the iron and steel sector, the resources sector, the transport and logistics sector, the new energy and recycling economy sector, the media sector, the financial sector, and new technology sectors are analyzed and compared in the case. After these integrations, mergers, acquisitions and investments of different sectors, Shougang Holdings has finished its rational distribution of development, which has enhanced the company\'s overall ability to withstand market risks. The principles ideas and measures, performance and results of Shougang Holdings’ diversified business model are also summarized in the case. This helps to find some clues and proper ways for the development of other Chinese state-owned steel companies’ diversified business model innovation. The success of Shougang Holdings also provides a lot of motivation for the development of Chinese steel industry.
