Zhongbai Supermarket Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wuhan Zhongbai Group. It is also one of the largest chain companies in Hubei Province with the most convenient stores. As a local retail enterprises, Zhongbai Supermarket bore the double pressure on macro-economic downturn and the rise of e-commerce. On this condition, Zhongbai Supermarket devoted its mind on retail business, transformed the traditional extensive mode of operation and re-build their competitive advantage. In this case, we briefly describes the general situation of Zhongbai Supermarket, and introduces the development course and traditional operation mode of supermarket in China. After that, we expatiated the mode transformation process through the establishment of distribution system, the implementation of direct merchandising and fine commodity management. In this case, students will be exposed to the traditional supermarket management and the transition path of typical retail entities in China under the new environment, which will help students know better about the nature of retail, business intermediary and commodity management theory, and generate new awareness and understanding.
