With the further penetration of the idea ‘Low-Carbon Economy’ and the increasing tension in the energy crisis, the solar industry has played a more and more important role in the economic and social development of our country. The Rising-Sun Company, described in this case, was found in 2000 and a high-technology company producing solar photovoltaic power supply systems. Facing with new opportunities and challenges brought by the ‘Low-Carbon Economy’ in the solar photovoltaic field and national subsidiary policies, this company had made a decision to change their products from traditional lateral off-grid photovoltaic device towards the user side grid-connected solar power plant, but unfortunately received a chilly feedback from customers. Why did the company choose energy management contracting? How to adjust its internal organization constructs to reduce operation risks? Could energy management contracting help it out of the woods?
