Abstract:
In order to rapidly respond to new business environments and external changes, Beijing Aquarium took digital transformation as its strategic core. First, it established the Office of Standardization, conducting standardized transformation of all business processes including human resources management. Next, the human resources department identified potential suppliers, and finally decided on Company S, an internationally renowned system supplier. However, after digitization, it turned out that the operational results were not as successful as expected. The system design was complicated, which made it difficult for users to operate it independently. And more importantly, the human resources management of the system was not suitable for the aquarium. The aquarium resolutely gave up these two subsystems (the digital systems designed and delivered by company S), terminating cooperation with Company S. The aquarium collaborated instead with a local supplier, E-road company. Working closely together, all subsystems were successfully launched, and digital transformation of the Aquarium was completed. In the following months, the operation of the system enabled the aquarium to earn money and become profitable again. While many other companies suffered from losses during the COVID-19, Beijing Aquarium survived earning profits due to due to the digital transformation of human resources management, together with other business processes.
